Founded in 1728 by the Jesuit missionaries, St. Joseph’s Seminary was the center of formation for countless Catholic priests, notable for the last three centuries, accompanying the evolution of Macao society and contributing positively to its cultural, educational, artistic and cultural Social.
The St. Joseph’s Seminary houses a great number of religious relics, such as books and documents, oil paintings, images, religious implements, etc. In order to give the public the opportunity to appreciate them, the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government cooperated with the Seminary and the Catholic Diocese of Macao in the establishment of the Treasure of Sacred Art of St. Joseph's Seminary.
