Date: December 8th each year

The Immaculate Conception is a traditional Catholic holiday. In Macau, this anniversary is particularly valued and listed as a government public holiday.

The meaning of the festival is to congratulate the Virgin Mary received the gift of God to keep her from the original sin. The festival began in the 8th century AD, not only to celebrate the Immaculate Conception, but to commemorate Santa Ana, who was pregnant and gave birth to the Virgin Mary. Later, after the festival was spread through different regions and churches, it was changed to congratulate the Immaculate Conception, and the church will also hold a mass.
