The A-Ma Temple already existed before the establishment of the city of Macao. It is composed of the Gantry Pavilion, Memorial Arch, Prayer Pavilion, Grace Pavilion, Guanyin Pavilion and Zhengjiao Chanlin Buddhist Pavilion. The various pavilions are dedicated to the veneration of different deities, forming a unique complex, which makes the A-Ma Temple an exemplary case of Chinese culture inspired by Confucianism, Taoism, Buddhism and multiple popular beliefs.
