This hill in Portuguese is "Colina da Guia", the name origin has its allusions, when the Netherlands invaded Macau, a Dutch officer named "Guia" was captured by the Macao Army, and imprisoned in the hill, later called the hill "Colina da Guia".

To Guia Hill, first will go to the peak of the lighthouse direction, Guia Fortress has been a military restricted area until the Portuguese army withdrew from Macao in 1976 to open to the public.

On the fort, which also reached the lighthouse at the top of the hill, built in 1865, has been providing evening navigation along the coast of Macao, initially only lit with kerosene lamps, then changed to modern lighting and added electric rotation function, the lighthouse still continues its sailing services.
